How would you feel if there was a PRO-American, anti illegal immigration, rally down at your local Courthouse, and you picked up your Old Glory and trotted down there, only to have a cop want to take your Flag away from you ?? I dont have much doubt in my mind that I would get my hackles up in a gotdam hurry !! I'd prolly say somethin too.. "I bet you wouldnt take it away from me if it was a MESCAN flag" !!

Sound kinda far-fetched ?? That is EXACTLY what happened last Friday in Tennessee !!

I thank I've ground my teeth down half way since I saw that.. MAD dont even start to express my feelins about it.. I have ranted and raved and cussed about it ever since too.. To anybody that would listen to me.. Maybe I've calmed down enuff to put it on here, before I start drankin, then all bets are off !! The WATE.com site has a discussion board and some of the locals that went to the rally have shed a little more light on the matter too.. It aint perty either.. I know some of you are gonna thank that I'm takin this a little personal, but gotdammit it is !! If you aint a grouchy, old, crippled, wore-out Vet, with a heartfelt love for the Flag, then you prolly dont "get it" !! Well, let me fuggin splain it to you thickheaded sunzabitches then !! To most folks, Teddy just had his Rights violated.. To me, his Rights were violated, the Flag was dishonored, his patriotism was mocked, and his pride was attacked.. And BUB (short for Big Ugly Bastard), thats just somethin you aint supposed to do to a Disabled Vet !! You get the picture now ??

Disappeared Somewhere

I've put up several posts lately that have just plain gone into thin air !! It pisses me off to sit and thank and type for a while, then push the "publish" button and the damn thang goes somewhere except where I wanted it to..
Its probably better that they did disappear tho.. I really went on some pissed-off rants a coupla times and used some words that my young, innocent viewers might not have heard before.. Yeah, right !!
So if ya thank I've been sluffin off, then you would be wrong.. I just caint seem to do the damn thangs over again when I just got thru doin one and it gotdam vanished !!
I really do wish the one about the "Mardi Gra on the Catholic Church Parkin Lot" had made it thru..
I've thought about makin backup files of my posts, but I dont blog for posterity.. I blog just to be friendly and to hopefully interact with folks that feel like I do.. (FAT CHANCE) Shit, like there are, maybe, 3 or 4 other people in the WHOLE state of TEXAS that feel like I do ?? And the Warden wont let them on the puter anymore !!

So, if you stop by here and see the same ol shit from last week, dont thank its cause I dont care and have lost interest in this place.. After usin up the biggest part of my mental capacity to write a post, and then it goes to cyberspace somewhere and not here, I just dont have the gumption to do it again.. I know, I could jump thru all the hoops and do somethin to save all my posts, but that would take a lot of fun out of it and turn it into work, and that aint why I do this stuff..
Just to put a bug in your ear tho.. If I had more visitors, and more comments, I would probably post more.. Just a thought..

Forgotten Pleasures

I've had a lot on my mind lately and I've missed a few chances to do stuff that make me happy and content..
I was sittin here a minute ago and just happened to remember that I had a 6-pak of beer left in the little fridge I have here in the den.. We keep it in here to put stuff in to keep from havin to go all the way to the other side of the house, to the kitchen, to get somethin or put somethin in the cold.. In the top freezer part, there are a bunch of mugs that are all frosty.. Just ready for me to come in from workin outside and be ready for a frosty mug of coldbeer, or when visitors stop and we feel like havin a cold one with our conversation..
I guess I dont have to tell ya that now I'm sittin here havin a frosty mug of coldbeer.. It took me till 11 o'clock at nite to thank of it too !! I'm startin to worry bout me .. Like I said, I've had a lot on my mind lately tho..

I'm tired of bein broke all the time and worryin bout money.. I'm thankin bout sellin my farm so that I can start drawin my disability.. They wont let me draw it if I got all this property tho.. Everybody wants to buy the farm, but nobody wants to buy this place IN TOWN !! Hell, if I could sell this place in town, I'd move to the farm in a heartbeat..

We need a new car too.. It makes me nervous to drive to Dallas or Little Rock and be out on the roads in the summer heat in our old car.. I've done a lot of work on it and its in good condition, considerin all the miles on it.. Its got new tires, battery, alternator, belts, hoses, wipers, brakes, transmission, and I caint remember what-all else.. But its still and OLD car.. And besides, I need a TRUCK !! What kinda respectable REDNECK dont have a truck ?? I guess that if I'd quit wreckin the damn thangs I'd have one tho !! One of my buddies is gonna come by in the mornin and we are gonna haul my last one, or whats left of it, from the farm to the salvage yard and have it mashed.. Sure was a nice truck before that kid on a bicycle ran out in front of me and I had to hit the ditch at about 60 mph and wound up eattin a bunch of metal pipe fence and a telephone pole and a culvert before windin up upside down.. I'd had it about 3 weeks after payin cash and only had liability insurance and didnt collect a dime on it.. I guess I wadnt supposed to have a nice truck.. I didnt even get to put any pecker tracks on the seat !!

I need a new scooter too.. I thank I've done about all the "southern engenuity" I can to the one I've got.. When I go to the store down the street on mine, all the folks that have those nice new shiny ones, give me and my old scooter some funny looks.. I've got batteries stacked all over it and wires runnin every where.. Dont none of em want to race me tho !! Did you know that those damn thangs cost 8 or 9 THOUSAND dollars tho ?? SHEEEIT !! Thats as much as some of the new cars !! But I caint live without my scooter tho.. Gotta have it.. If I could get my disability, they would pay for a bunch of it..

I thank that if I had a little extra money, I would go ahead and get this old naggin gall bladder out too.. That damn naggin pain is really gettin old.. Gotdam phantom pains in my stump are bad enuff without the gall bladder.. It'd be nice to have the money to get somebody else cut my lawn and hedges till I get healed enuff to do it myself again, instead of lettin it all go to shit and then havin to try and get it all caught-up after I get feelin better..

Aint none of it real serious shit, but just stuff that preys on my mind a lot.. All that said, I need to just count the many blessins I have and be happy.. LORD knows it could be a helluva lot worse..

It Was A H.O.T. MOFO Today

The Mrs. had a tire on her car get almost flat yesturday, and I had her pull it up close to the storeroom where I keep my air compressor.. At the time I had a huge pork roast on the grill puttin some smoke in it and Ol Billy stopped by to have a coldbeer with us while I cooked.. We sat out under the carport havin more coldbeer till almost dark and I didnt get around to airin up the tire..
This mornin I went out to air the tire up and found that the Mrs. had been drivin around with the tire half-flat for a coupla days and had ruined the tire.. I aired the tire up a little and went to Wal-Mart and got a new tire and started puttin it on( I have my own tire machine too).. But, Bein out where I could be "saw" has its disadvantages when I'm tryin to get somethin done.. Another friend and neighbor drove by and saw me workin and decided to stop and give me a break.. We sat out in the shop, in the heat, for 2 hours or more and talked..
After he left it didnt take 15 minutes to finish the tire job and come in the house.. I was COOKED, soakin wet with sweat, and tard !!
I've got a 1 quart insulated mug that I have filled with iced tea and emptied twice since I came back in the house.. Next up is gonna be a cool shower or a long, cool soak in the tub.. I may just get me a big frosty mug of coldbeer and a ceegar and soak the heat away for a while..
Anyway, I hope I dont have to do any more tire work for a few months.. At least till it cools off some !! PHEEEWWWWW !!

I took that pork roast that I smoked yesturday and cooked a big pot of pinto beans with it last nite.. DAYUUM they sure are good !!

Yeah Right, A Parade

The rodeo is in town this weekend and they had a parade to kick it off today.. Wadnt much of a damn parade tho.. It had 2 cop cars, 2 dozen horses, a fire truck, and a wrecker .. It was more like a damn funeral than a parade .. No sirens, no nuthin !! People were goin WTF ?? Where is the parade at ??
We usually have HUGE parades here.. Lots of horses.. Lots of bikes.. Lots of old cars.. Lots of 4 wheelers and odd stuff that goes on for miles..
I dont know who the organizer was, but they SUCK !!

Beans and Greens

Early today I found a little bit of smoked bacon in the bottom of the meat drawer and decided that it wasnt enuff to have with eggs or do much else with besides make a small pan of pintos beans with.. I cooked em up REAL good and found a big can of Country Seasoned turnip greens in the cupboard to have with em.. The Mrs. said she didnt want cornbread with it, so we just had bread and butter and put the beans over rice.. I musta been hungry for that stuff cause I sure did stuff myself on it tonite for supper..
It was somethin we were needin too, cause last nite I fried a big mess of catfish, hush puppies and fried taters.. All that fried food had us kinda draggin today..
My Daddy always liked his beans and greens too.. Usually a lot more than me or Mama did !! Daddy could eat em 2 or 3 times a week, but I prefer once every coupla weeks myself..
When I was single and didnt want to cook for just me, I would open a can of spinach and add a little pepper to em and eat em right out of the can.. Specially in the hot hot summertime.. I most-times had cornbread handy to have as my midnite snack with milk, and it went good with my spinach and pickled eggs too..
That reminds me that I aint pickled any eggs lately.. I gotta put that on my To-Do list.. The Mrs. dont really care for em much, so I fix em like I like em, and I like mine kinda HOT.. Add some crackers and sharp cheddar and I can put-away my share of some good coldbeer with that kinda stuff !! Have ya'll noticed the PRICE of pickled pigs feet lately ?? DAMNATION they sure are proud of those thangs anymore !! I like to eat em, but I sure-as-hell aint gonna fix em myself.. I guess the Chinese or somebody has been tryin to buy all of em or somethin.. Back a few years ago, the Chinese made a deal with the chicken producers to buy a shit-load of chicken breasts, and the price of em went over $2 a lb, but leg quarters went down to 9 cents a lb.. I figgered out how to make all kinds of shit out of leg quarters back then !!
I guess its time I go let my tired ol ass have a rest in the bed a while.. I'm gonna see what the "fuss" is about on the talk shows tonite.. Lately they have been harpin on the new movies comin out now and I dont give a rats about none of that shit.. To ME, the new movies ALL SUCK !!
