Off To Do My Civic Duty
I've gotta get out of here in a minute and do Grand Jury Duty.. I dont mind and am actually lookin forward to since its my first time, but I KNOW what to expect.. The Case Load here and all around us has been filled with Child Sexual Assault cases and I dont expect this one to be any different..

With all the rain we have been havin there is a new change thats happened that I've become aware of.. Seems that animals here have gone thru a morph and I have been given exclusive pics of one example..

I didnt get picked so I got out early.. Sure did have a bunch of no-shows that are gonna get a rude awakenin !!
I took a tour of our Courthouse that has been completely remodeled and updated.. Sure aint nothin like it was when I was a kid and spent a lot of time there..
I decided to walk back home and took a tour of the Downtown Square and examined the work they are doin around it.. They have taken all the steps and sidewalks out and makin new ones.. Sure is a mess and there aint gonna be near as many parkin spaces and the business people aint happy about it..
I stopped by the Property Tax Office and got a full update on how much I still owe.. Looks like my new roofin is gonna have to wait a little longer !!
I stopped at the door to the Catholic Church next door to take advantage of the shade for a few minutes and saw a notice posted of their new Mass Schedule.. In the last few years they have had 2 Masses each Sunday.. Yeah, press 1 for Spanish and 2 for English !! Seems that they are now just gonna be havin 1 each Sunday and it is gonna be early in the mornin..
I came on across the street to the neighbors house behind me and him and his family was in the garage repaintin the ceilin in it and the window frames.. This is the neighbor that wants me to GIVE him my empty lot next door so they can have a table out under the tree to sit and drank and play dominos, and is the same one that is always throwin trash over the fence..
I didnt stay long causeI was ready for a big glass of iced tea and Miss Minnie Pearl could hear me talkin and she was wantin me to let her out to play in her yard a while and she was makin herself HEARD !!
I got my ass eat-out by the Mrs. for walkin home.. "Hottest day of the damn year and you decide to get out and walk around town".. Her job is to bitch.. Mine is to give her a reason !!
Wild Bill, last time I had jury duty, I just sat there all week reading magazines, drinking coffee and talking with several other guys that were on jury duty. We didn't get picked out to sit on a jury, just spent our time waiting in the jury room. I thought that was about the biggest waste of time I ever went through. I hope they don't ever call me back again. The judge tried explaining how important we were, but it kind of makes you wonder why you're there.
If they ever call me again, I might tell them I have leprosy or something.
Bout that press 1 for English, what idiot came up with that idea in the first place. This is an English speaking country, was formed that way and run that way way over 200 years. So here in the last few years some nut wants us to press 1 for English. That's political correctness that went way over it's bounds.
I listened to a Dallas radio station this mornin that said people called for the jury to hear the case of The Mooselimb Holy Foundation, charged with aidin terrorists ogs. (Hamas), had refused to serve cause they feared retribution from the Mooselimbs !!
If they are scared of that bunch of dirtbags, then they oughta sit on a jury tryin some Redneck for makin shine !!
I noticed that of all the "prospectives" that were there, half were Rednecks.. And guess what?? NOT ONE SINGLE REDNECK GOT PICKED !!
If I had been a Defense Att. and had wanted to hand-pick a liberal Jury, I couldnt have done a better job of it than the computer they used did..
I'd just like to see what cases it is that are comin up that they want a liberal jury for..
Bad thang about me bein on a jury here, I'm either kin to em, know em or OF em, and already know the story of why they are in court bein charged and tried, and most likely know MORE than what the Judge really wants the jury to know of the case, and sometimes even more the cops or the D.A. do themselves !!
