Everythang Is Soggy

The rain has been so much and for so long that everythang in the house(and outside) is just limp and soggy and molded..

All the salt in the house except the big kitchen shaker that has rice added wont pour.. If you open a bag of chips you better be prepared to eat the whole bag cause they get soggy and tuff if you dont.. We have those big Tupperware cereal boxes for our cereal and that dont help.. A crispy cracker is somethin I aint had in months !!

I'm out of Murphy's Oil Soap cause I've used it all tryin to keep the gotdam mold off the kitchen cabinets and panelin..

We were supposed to have a coupla days of dry weather but a line of storms and rain are movin in again now.. And I had my trailer loaded with all the shit I thru away out of the shop and I unloaded it and thought I was gonna get to get the hoist off it too but I caint do it in the rain now..

There was a bunch of clothes in that stuff I thru away and now its piled up on my empty lot next door and is gonna be too wet to burn for a month.. A month if it didnt rain any more, that is..

The Red River to the north of us has been at or above Flood Stage for about a week now and expected to stay that way for the rest of July due to the Corp of Engineers openin the Denison Lake gates and Hugo Lake overflowin.. Sulphur River to the south of us has been just below or just above Flood Stage for almost 2 weeks now, too..

I thank we have had enuff rain now and I'm ready for it to stop for a while !!

The storms are rollin in now and the litnin is gettin kinda "mean" so I better shut this sucker down a while..

Yeah, you said where you lived in your very first comment here, but I aint ever looked up where it is on the map..

We have been on the northern edge of the storms all afternoon.. We were on the southern edge yesterday, and the eastern edge of it day-before-yesterday and the night before that..

I keep teasin the Mrs. about the "tail" of the storms hittin us.. Last week she was on the puter and I asked her what the radar looked like and she said "it looks like we are gonna get the tail of some storms" .. Damn-near floated us out of the house !! Now when we have one of those "turd floaters" come thru all I have to do is look at here and she says "shut up. Just dont say a damn word" !!

I lost my spyware cleaner when my puter got fried and I havent been able to get a new one that works worth a damn and it sure is screwin with my trollin around the .net lately..

I dwnlded AVAST virus protection and it cleaned out some stuff that my AVG has been missin..

I dont use IE but I do keep it updated.. Bout all I use is Netscape and it has been good so far.. I dont upgrade as soon as the new one comes out tho.. I wait till they get most of the bugs cleaned out and patched first..

Well, I finally got all the trash off my trailer and now I've got the hoist off too and hangin in the shop and as soon as I get a hole plugged in a tire on the mower I'm gonna load it up and make a trip to the farm.. That is if it dont start rainin again first.. Looks like we got another line of storms headed this way out of Oklahoma and should be here a lille later, but maybe I can get to the farm and back ahead of it..

My lil'o trailer sure is happy cause it got to spend its first nite in the shop out of the weather last nite !! Now to get the bed replaced and it will be REAL happy..

Hey WB. I been wondering if you needed to get the boat out yet. We haven't gotten any more rain for the last couple of weeks, but it has rained all around us. Thunderboomers have a way of doing that.

It is real cloudy and builds up fast and sometimes we get a sprinkle. But the humidity has been over 50 percent and makes our swamp coolers not work worth a damn.

Reference your spy cleaner, I use Super Anti Spyware and it seems to find all the crap and crude pretty well, I run it every night. I very seldom reboot my computer and it hasn't been turned off of months. If it gets sluggish I reboot it.

I have it plugged into an APC brand APC, which keeps it up for about twenty minutes on it's battery. It gives me time to close everything and it protects against any spikes and such. I got it on ebay, brand new for about half what it costs new.

Like you, I use those free virus programs on the net once in a while to make sure that my AVG isn't missing something.

When you get those floorboards on your trailer replaced, go down and have that bedliner stuff sprayed on them. My son did that to an old trailer he has and it still looks good and is still solid.

I'm with you on hanging on to family stuff. The problem I have is space, I have too much to store where it is easy to get to. I take Sweet Sarah sometimes and we go through boxes (I've converted to the new plastic tote boxes as they are waterproof and seal good) looking at the things I have from my Dad and Mom and the things that they kept from their parents. She loves looking at the old pictures and news clippings that have been saved for decades.

I want her to grow up with a sense that family is the most important thing other than our Creator. Just above our love for our Republic and our Texas.

Take care..

Darn, you have serious moisture in the house! Say what you want about crazy old California, but we don't experience high humidity! One thing they do in SF, near the beach where the fog is so bad, is put charcoal in the closets and drawers to absorb the moisture. Don't know if that would work for you. Have you tried lemon oil on the cabinets? I swear by the stuff.

I use Spy Bot for my adware/spyware. Purchased Symantec's corporate package for my virus scanning at the recommendation of my computer guy. I'm with Papa Ray, I rarely shut my computer down.

Also with you guys on treasuring my mementos from the past. Never have understood how anyone could part with anything a loved one owned and passed down. It's sacrilegious!!

Here's hoping everything gets squared away for you kids.

Some of that rain is finally moved over my way. We have got a little rain each day for a week now. It rained really good a couple of days, but mostly drizzle everyday after. I need a couple of them floods to get my pond filled back up as it's about 5 feet low now.

Talking bout that humidity problem, we have always had problems with that living here in the southeast. I can tell when we've had too much as the guns start rusting first, so have to get them oiled up. I've found out that I can soak them down with automatic transmission fluid and it keeps them rust free for at least a year if I get a good coat on them. A bag of potoato chips, we don't have problems with them going bad as when the bag is opened, they're all gone in a little while. But the crackers don't seem to stay crisp like you said if left for a few days.

Y'all have a good day,
Almtnman

Wild Bill,

I forgot to mention, you might want to check out a spyware program that I started using called Kaspersky Anti-Virus(6.0.2.614). I have used a lot of different anti-virus programs and after installing that one, I like it the best. It does it's own update each day when I log on and runs in the background looking for stuff that needs to be nuked. It's about the best program I have run on here.
