RT's Been Stealin My Material

Thats really just a joke, but a post of mine that was meant for here showed up over at Redneck's Revenge(top of the blogroll) yesterday, where I also contribute, and I had a follow-up post that I put up over there today also..

Is it just the places I visit or has the whole .net gotten slow lately ?? Even Drudge has been slow bout updatin his site and most blogs are a week behind..

I used to have to sit here half the nite readin all my sites I usually go to, and lately I have been huntin new sites to get some readin material.. It aint been cause of a lack of stuff to write about either.. There is a swirl of news out there that aint gettin passed on but I guess people are just wantin to follow MSM's lead and pound on the same ol shit day-after-day or not post at all..

But I'm gettin over my CRUD now and feelin better and it no longer sounds like a TB Clinic in here, so I spect I'll be doin more postin here.. Its supposed to be coolin off here this next week and that usually means that I get the "bakin" bug and start lookin at stuff to go in the oven.. No doubt that I'll find somethin I'll wanna post here too.. I already have a few recipes in mind..

But if you get to "jonsin" for one of my posts and dont find it here, check over at RT's and see if he's done stole some more of my posts !! snicker snicker

Glad your feeling better WB, those type of ailments can turn bad sometimes. You think you just got a cold or flu and the next thing you know, your in the hospital.

I've been having to use a crutch for the last couple of days. I pulled that muscle behind the knee on my left leg but it's better today. We went to a Septemberfest and walked and walked, I couldn't find a wheel chair that they said that they had five of and as luck would have it, carrying way too much, stepping off of a curb...well, I need to be more careful and remember my age and "condition".

Anyway..I've never been much of a baker, so my expertise is limited to the very basics.

But, I do have one recipe passed down from my Mama for oatmeal cookies.

They are much liked around here. I'll give you a first, and share it with you.

Posted for the first time anywhere:

Papa Ray's Secret Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Recipe.

1 cup cooking oil (canola or Veg)
3 teaspoons baking soda
4 teaspoons baking powder
3 (level) cups all-purpose flour
3 cups brown sugar (packed)
2 teaspoons salt
3 large eggs (or four small)
2 teaspoons nutmeg
4 teaspoons cinnamon
1 cup of milk (you may have to add a little more.)
4 cups of quick (instant) rolled oats (heaping)
3 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans (or more, if you like them)
1 1/2 cup raisins (more if you like)______________________________________________________

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Oil at least 2 or more large cookie sheets. (this makes a lot of cookies)

In a large bowl, mix together the oil, sugar, salt, eggs, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, baking powder, baking soda and milk. Mix really good, scrape sides and bottom of bowl.

Next, add to the mixture, oats, pecans, flour and raisins. Then mix together very well (mash up any flour balls), scrape sides and bottom often until throughly mixed. Its important that the oats are well soaked and coated.

I like the mixture a little on the stiff side, it makes it easier to work with and get on the cookie sheets.

Place cookie mixture on cookie sheets using a large spoon (not too close together.

Bake 15 to 18 minutes at 350 degrees (depends on your oven), start checking the edges for browning. on the cookies at around 14 minutes.

I like them really brown on the bottom, but to each his own.

Cool a few minutes before removing from cookie sheets. Enjoy with your Loved Ones.

Of course, everybody likes a little more of this or that, so it's really just a guide for those that have never made oatmeal raisin cookies.

I told Sweet Sarah that this was my Mama's secret recipe and that I was passing it down to her and to keep it a secret. That was a couple of years ago.

When she wants me to make them, she still comes up and whispers: " Papa, Lets make the secret recipe".

What blessings I have.

Take care

Papa Ray

You know I was just out lookin for stuff to post at RR.....and by the time I got through seeing the moonbat protestors inside the Capital, hearing Democrat's speeches to Petraus, and watching Dennis Kucinich on Syrian TV telling out enemies that we need to end the occupation in Iraq...and pay reparations..... I just dont feel like posting anything.

Because somewhere in my country there are many congressional districts where the people there, my so-called fellow Americans, whole-heartily support these elected traitors and their methods.

.... and I'm tired of just posting articles about their ignorance..... when what I really want to do is...... well, you know what I really want to do.
