Can You Hear That ??

Its the "Call of the Wild" and I plan on answerin it here in a little bit..

It's been stormin and rainin and foggy for the past coupla days and these damn walls are closin in on me and my blood pressure is just about to reach its MAX.. The sun is just now comin out and is supposed to be in the 70's and 80's for the rest of the week and I plan on makin good use of it..

I've gotta do somethin to relieve some stress before I wind up in ICU with a heart monitor.. Not to mention that I've just about ground all my teeth down to the gums..

I dont know what its gonna be yet, but I have a sneaky suspicion that I'm gonna kill somethin soon !! I thank it would be better that I go to the farm where the most I can be prosecuted for is poachin out of season and not for takin out a car full of minority people that were playin their "thumpers" too loud !!

I found a can of ammo that I forgot I had and I plan on burnin it the next few days.. Its just stuff that my Mama hid from me for a bunch of years so I wouldnt shoot it all up at one time..

I'd like to get my barn set up as my "headquarters" this week.. Its gonna be a lot easier to get around in it than havin to use my crutches like I do at the trailer.. Gonna put a bed in the barn so I can roll up on my scooter and hop in it to take breaks and have all my tools and supplies out of the weather and still be handy to get to..

I've got a big ham bone left from Easter that is gonna go in a pot of beans on a slow fire too.. I figger that will go with about anythang I kill.. I've got some work to do on the mower and the tiller so I will be hangin around the barn and the fire and be able to cook and enjoy some time out there this time, instead of workin all the time in the garden and mowin..

I hope everybody has a good rest-of-the-week, cause I plan to..

Sanity returns !! I decided to wait till in the mornin to go to the farm.. Fog and temp in the mid 40's forecast and that just dont sit well with my old worn out body anymore..

The temp I can handle, but the temp and the dampness just dont go well with my ailments and past injuries..

Besides.. It would make my guns rust.. Yeah.. Thats it.. Guns would rust.. Thats my story and I'm stickin to it !!

I may get my nerve up and stick my neck out and comment on the SCOTUS Rulin on abortion later.. I dont thank I've pissed ya'll off good in a while anyway ..

Sounds like you got a plan...just stick to it.

I beat you to the beans, put on a pot of pinto beans this am with three small hamhocks and my special seasoning.

Cooked a pot roast this afternoon with all the veggies. Sweet Sarah loves it, its one of her favorite meals. Special dark beef gravy my Mama taught me how to make, and homemade bread and you got a meal to be proud of.

Talking about stuff to piss you off. I found out today that the rates for a home loan are going to go up, even with a VA loan, which I am going to use sometime later this year to buy something further out in the country than I am now.

I hope that they go back down before I get financing.

Talking about rust on your weapons, I use a product made by Outers, called Tri-Care (a gunners companion)
It works great for many uses and keeps the rust and corrosion off even in harsh conditions.

Oh well, I hope you get in some shooting soon. It helps my blood pressure and my outlook.

I wish some of that rain you got over there would mosey over this way. We're about a foot below on rainfall for the year and my little pond is looking sad. I need that pond full of water so when the vegetables start growing I can pump the water to them and produce a bunch. I got the tiller out so we could lay a few rows off and get the tomatoes and peppers in the ground. I cranked it up and it wouldn't run except on full choke. man, what a bad day is this when something like that happens. I thought maybe the gas had went bad, but it hadn't been that long since I run it. I went to the sattion and filled the little four banger Ranger up and the gas can that I use for the tiller and other small engines. i stopped by the parts place to but a can of carburetor cleaner to clean the tiller. They said I should try a can of Seafoam instead and add it to the gas. I bought that added an ounce of it the the tiller's tank and filled it on up with fresh gas. I decided to clean the air filter and it was kind of dirty so we washed it off with some gas and it cleaned up real nice. I fired the tiller off on full choke and run it a few seconds and it sputtered a little and then smoothed right out and I took the choke off and it's running like a little sewing machine now. Man, that Seafoam stuff works good and the air cleaner getting cleaned proabbly helped some too. We got the tomatoes and peppers planted and decided to hook up the pump so we could wet the bean rows down before we planted them. I got it all hooked up and pulled the cord and the motor wouldn't budge, what a trip. I unhooked it and loaded it up in the truck and headed back to the house with it. After a good supper of left over spaghetti I decided to take the pull start off and see if I could free the motor. I took it off and fit a socket on the crankshaft bolt and just a little tug with a wrenc and it was free, must have had a little rust in there from sitting in the garage all winter. I'll get it going and water those beans rows in the morning.

In between all that, my wife was moving an old bee hive out of the way and a rather large chicken snake slid out while she was walking it to the trailer. She yelled for me to bring my snake gun, a little youth model NEF 20 gauge. After I told her it was a rat snake she didn't want me to kill it. I was about like Wild Bill by that time and needed some shooting action, so I told her that if we let it live, it would get in our chicken pen and eat the eggs. One shot and it was gone.

Anyway, I've been looking for the copy cats to creep out of the wood work and not knowing where they will hit next, I started packing my 45 all the time even in the house. I remember that everytime we had a school shooting it wasn't long before a copy cat wanted to make the news and went off on a tangent too. I plan on being ready in case one of those nut cases show up at the same place I'm at.

Yep....a big pot of beans would go mighty fine tomorrow with a big pone of cornbread, a good sweet onion and glass of tea. I'm getting hungry already.

I'm back Stateside on May 10th and I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to cooking beans.

I can't even think about the brisket on the smoker without getting dizzy.

Hell I'm gonna have another beer.

Aint nothin like good ol American Soil, is there Greg ?? And the cookin caint be beat either, specially when you got a good coldbeer to wash it down with.. Hope you have a enjoyable and safe trip home..

Sounds like you are havin bout the same luck as I am, Mtn Man.. Got to the farm and the carbeuratr tried to fall of my mower, then the rope broke and I lost my well bucket, then the wasps had taken over my bus where my bed for the barn was and I had to fight them damn thangs, then I hit a hole on my scooter and turn me AND it gresey-side-up and tossed my batteries and tore all the wirin off it, then the spark plug miss-fired on the generator and it broke a piston ring and now it smokes like a freight train, then all the mountin bolts fell off my tiller motor and it fell off, then the Mrs. and the Kid came out for visist and she and Miss Minnie Pearl were playin keep-away with a beer can and MM Pearl did a takle maneuver and body-slammed her in the knee and tore the cartiledge out of her knee and she is in a brace and on crutches too now..

Bur besides all that, I've had a good few days !!
