A Big Set-Back

I got deathly ill while eattin supper Monday evenin and its hangin on still..

I've been so sick that I caint hardly hold my head up.. It started in my lower abdomen and has now affected just about all my whole body..

I got up feelin better this mornin but have gone downhill since.. Havent eattin but a coupla bowls of tater soup and drank a few glasses of tea all week, but just got thru havin a turkey sammich and a glass of milk to see if I can get some energy back..

Its funny tho, that I havent run a fever till this afternoon.. Thats whats had me baffled.. The low grade fever I have now is most likely due to dehydration tho, but if it persists I'll take a few doses of Sulfa and see if its some kind of digestive bug..

But I have been in bed sleepin so much that my back is killin me and I just have to MAKE myself get up and move around some..

If it looks like I'm gonna survive this shit I'll get back and let you know..

Darn, I'm so sorry to hear you've been ill. Don't push yourself now. Sounds like you may have picked up a nasty virus. Prayers coming from California for you to get back to good health.

Sorry yer feeling so bad WB.

There are some really bad bugs out there. Seems all the bacteria is mutating to become MORE powerful.

Isn't enuf to have the terrorists tryin to kill all of us even the bacteria has turned to the dark side.

We now have so much VRE, MRSA, C-Diff, etc., etc....at the hospital tht we look like we are in some science fiction movie what with all the garb we have to wear when we enter a patient's room.

For someone like me who is a little on the claustraphobic side it is more than annoying.

Went into a pt's room one night and he had lakes of diarrhea (Ha!! Minnesota--Land of 10,000 + 1 lake!) d/t C-Difficle. Within 2 hours of caring for him I was as white as a sheet, dizzy....well yu know the rest....I won't go into gory detail. Even the hospital supervisor was so worried for me tht he wanted to order me a cab home. Drove home goin 35 mph on the freeway. Moaned and groaned for 2 days. Wanted to die.

So yeah...there are bad bugs about.

As a nurse I always catastrophize to the worst scenario...."oh great, now I have stomach cancer" or whatever other disease strikes my mood at the time....it is common in the nursing profession.

It is soooo hard for me to stop everything to try and get better. God help any doctor or nurse tht would have me as a patient as I do not tend to follow any medical advice (another common trait of nurses).

I hope you will take the time to heal and get better. Prayers for yer well being WB.

BTW---the motorcycle class is excellent...6 men and 6 women.

Sooooo exciting!!!

Take it easy WB, go heavy on the water and maybe throw in a gater aid or two. If your not better in a day or so go see the Doc.

Mentioning that tater soup, That stew I made is almost gone, I've been eating most of it, fixed Sweet Sarah some pork chops, gravey and taters with some spinach and greens mixed. She eats pretty good but still is as skinny as a rail.

Let us know whats up.

Looks like I may just pull thru !! See what prayers will do ??

My guess is that I had a blocked/locked bowl.. If it had been a virus I would have had high fever.. It felt like I had a porkypine tusslin in my guts and it hurt so bad that I was tossin and turnin and got my bad shoulder tore apart again and then rolled around on my bad gall bladder and got it stirred up too and had sweats real bad and got dehydrated and that meant terrible hand and leg cramps.. I spent over 24 hours in complete agony and that left me weak as a newborn kitten..

I finally got a little soft food down yesterday and had whole grain cereal last nite and feel much better today.. Just still real weak and wobbly..

The Mrs. got me out and we rode over to the Indian Territorial Smoke Shop in Oklahoma and I got some smokes tax free today.. Saved 15 cents a gallon on gas too !!

The Mrs. is gonna make up a bunch of hamburger patties and I'm gonna grill em later.. If I can get some good protein in me I should be able to bounce on back now.. But my main trouble is gonna be my shoulder.. It takes a long time for that damn thang to ever get usable again after I wretch it like I just did.. From what I hear, it must be about like havin a heart attack, all but the shortness of breath..

But I've GOTTA make my cages for my tamaters real soon !! And I've got a bunch of greens that need pickin too.. I've got too much stuff to do to let this keep me down long..

Thanks for all the Well Wishes.. Must have done the trick..

Bill, it sounds like you might have ate something that might have been spoiled and got a case of food poisoning. Hope you get to feeling better soon though, so don't overdo it too much.

That rain you got over there in Texas last week finally worked it's way over here and we got an inch of rain one day. It sure did help out some and the garden seemed to like being moist instead of powder dry.

How's them tobakker seeds doing?

I aint seen you anywhere lately, James, and thought you mighta got caught up in that Militia Round-up in your area the other day.. Sure glad they got that bunch off the streets !! My buddy has been busy workin on 18 hour days and I aint had a chance to get him to show me how to plant them seeds yet.. Papa Ray sent a link to a site that wanted to sell me a booklet on tabakker.. But I'll catch my buddy and get them seeds in the ground soon..

Don, I didnt eat that porkypine, but if I coulda got my hands on that damn varmint I woulda made hash outta his ass !!

I have Crohn's Disease and it acts up every now and then like that.. It hits me in all different ways tho.. Sometimes its the "green apple trots" and sometimes its like I had this week and I just dry up hurt and cramp.. But it may have been the "HOT" hot links I took with me to the farm to munch on.. The Mrs. got the HOT instead of the MEDIUM and I tried to eat em like the MEDIUMs.. Sure were good tho and I had a bunch of my hooch to wash em down with.. I figger I just got carried away with it and I overworked a bit too..

That militia round-up was up the road from me a ways, probably about 40 miles or so. I think it was more a politcal thing with the gov, mint than it was anything else. If they don't do things like that now and then, people get to thinking they are not doing anything so they really emphasize small stuff like that. They picked up a couple of AR 15's and maybe a couple of Ruger mini 14's and some ammo and stuff. They also got a bunch of unloaded grenades that somebody might sell as paper weights. From what I saw on TV it looked more like the guys involved might have been into survival stuff and their lawyer said that there wasn't much gonna come out of all that. The neighbors said the main man they caught was selling all the stuff they carted off at the local flea markets for about 30 years and nothing ever came up with any of that.

I'm not into that kind of stuff anyway, so no problem here.

Hey WB. Like I said earlier, glad your better, and I have had some sausages and hot links that have given me problems too. I don't think it's the hot part, just the meat. I have been eating hot peppers, really hot peppers and other stuff all my life and from what I read, it's good for you along with onions and pepper.

I been raising my Sweet Sarah to eat hot and spicy stuff, she can eat those store bought jalapenos with no problem. Course the ones I raise are a mite too hot for her.

I imagine your making your cages out of chicken wire or such, but you do know you can buy the already made ones pretty cheap.

I have a lady friend that has had gall bladder problems, mostly cured by cutting back on fats (sausages?) eating lots of rasin brand, apples and carrots. She also takes vit c and e every day.

Them milita were lightweights, grenades that don't do anything? just a little bit of ammo and a few little rifles.

Jeez, those agents would faint if they came down here and found out what people have been "collecting".

Buy more Ammo
