Dangerous Territory

The World's BREADBASKET is almost empty !!

Somethin else I have touched on a time or two and ranted about some here is the severe shortage of grains in the U.S. Emergency Supplies stocks..

One thang that jumped out at me this mornin durin my early gatherin of news came from The Market Report.. Not only have the U.S. stockpiles of grain gotten to disastrously LOW LEVELS, now the WORLD's levels of grain have done the same thang..

I've gone thru what the dangers are that this poses so I aint gonna clutter these pages with it again.. There are plenty of places on the .net that can give you better and more specifics on it than I can..

But unlike a U.S. shortage and what that means, now its GLOBAL and takes the situation to a whole new level..

When it was just a U.S. shortage nobody seemed to give a shit and didnt care if the big fat Americans starved to death in a disaster, but now that its Global you can bet that its gonna be a big deal.. We just caint have the Third World folks doin without their corn cakes and tortillas, yanno !!

But, I'm gonna get goofy and put a tin-foil hat on for a minute here. So, could this have been a BUSH/CHENEY/ROVE plot to get back at all the dirtbag dictators of the world ?? Most of em have big supplies of oil and resources that they charge us dearly for and very little agriculture.. Maybe the plan is to see just how hungry the sunzabitches have to get before they decide their fuggin oil aint worth as much as they thought it was and our corn and wheat is worth a lot more than they thank they oughta have to pay !!

But thank about it for a minute here.. A major WORLD WIDE shortage of grains and the U.S. Gubmint is still shellin out MEGA BUCKS to farmers, NOT TO PLANT !!

Altho its not at all logical and only a little bit reasonable, I have come up with only ONE excuse for lettin this happen, and I'm just wonderin if anybody else comes to the same conclusion that I have..

Just ponder on it a while and let me know what you come up with..

p.s. wild bill - all subsidies are is welfare for farmers - i know people in the milk business who are paid at times to throw the milk out - guess what? they let it sour in enclosed barrels and sell it to local pig farmers! of course, that's welfare fraud, no?

I'm WAY LOW on my corn meal and flour..

The rain was so bad early this year and I had some that got bugs in it, and I've been tryin to wait till the store has a good sale on it to re-stock, but the sales just aint happened..

In the winter months or just when it even gets cool we eat a lot of homemade stew and soups and beans and cabbage and have cornbread or fresh bread or bisquits with it.. So we go thru a lot of cornmeal and flour..

Every time I get some decent storage containers for it they always seem to get used for some more pressin purpose..

I dug around in my storeroom the other day and found some of my gallon pickle jars to use when I get re-stocked now..

I almost went into sticker-shock when I priced yeast not long ago !!

Between gettin taxes paid and tryin to keep my por lil'o scooter goin, I just aint had the extra money to get my supplies back in order..

I guess I'm just gonna have to find somethin I can live without and sell it so I can afford to buy some of the stuff I GOTTA get..

But it would take a small fortune to get all the stuff I would need for a years supply.. And if disaster does hit I'm gonna have a small crowd to try to feed and house..

We dont have a lot of hog farmers round here but I bet the chicken farmers get their share of reject milk..

Is it because of biofuel or whatever the hell they call it?

Don't keep us in suspense, WB.

I do like the idea of bartering food for oil, though. I hope that's the plan. Not only that, show the ungrateful countries how much they do depend on the Great Satan.

Doesn't make much sense, does it, to pay farmers to not plant. Still don't understand why they capped oil wells, either. Or are they still doing this?

Throw out milk???? Good Lord, at the prices they're charging today - oh, just got it.

I want to get to the mountains and withdraw from this world. It's just too much for my little brain to assimilate!!

I'm sure that biofuels has a lot to do with it, but bout the only time subsidies comes up for discussion is durin election season and for em to cut em it would have made a major increase in oil and fuel demand which would have driven fuel and gas prices at the pump out of sight .. Caint have that happen durin election season !!

All that Set-Aside land would have been put back into production by the farmers and the fuel demand would have been a big one to get all the crop production back into gear and then the transport of the crops to market too after the harvest..

And with the hurricanes shuttin down the refineries and fuel supplies at a minimun anyway, the agri demand would have made pump prices completely outrageous !!

And the oil situation aint just a whole helluva lot better still, so a solution to the grain shortage is gonna be an illusive one for a while still..

But you might also remember that a bunch of countries that we were GIVIN grain to began to ban Geneticly Modified products..

For the farmer to be able to produce his product and be profitable at it he needed to be able to use the science altered brands.. There just aint a way to keep the GM products and the regular seperated tho.. And if those countries(mostly Mooselimb) wanna ban the GM products, then I say let em eat dirt, dammit !!

We caint give em what we aint got, and we damn sure dont need to be havin to PAY farmers to grow inferior products just so we can GIVE it to a bunch of ungrateful sunzabitches, that are plottin our demise anyway, just so we look like a bunch of kind, carin, and compassionate SUCKERS to the rest of the world !!

Any time there is a disaster somewhere anymore, the sunzabitches put their starvin and newly-orphaned citizens in front of a camera and plead for MONEY now.. They dont want food.. They dont want housin and beds.. Just MONEY..

But the people in-need dont get the money or what it was supposed to be for anyway.. So FUGGEM .. FUGGEM ALL, and let em eat dirt and woller in their own shit cause they wont even make theirselves a bathroom facility and use it.. All they gotta do is dig a damn hole, and they wont even do that..

People like them dont deserve ONE RED CENT of my money..

And here is the real KICKER to this story.. You know the terrorists are hijackin U.N. Relief ships haulin GM grain on em, and they turn around and SELL it to the same damn fuggin countries that wont let us GIVE em the same stuff !! Aint that some SHIT ??

Revelation 6:5-6
[5] And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
[6] And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
Notice that the grains were going for the equivalent of a day's wages, but the luxury items(notice the price of junk foods)are staying the same?
We are being set up to toe the Antichrist's line or starve.
Good morning, G*D bless and Maranatha!

Indeed, WB. Our tax dollars at work. Keep throwing it at all countries while those at home starve.

I will no longer eat anything produced by Hershey. They shut down a factory nearby, and others, and moved production to Mexico!!!! A lot of people lost jobs.

I ask you, if we continue to allow big business to ship jobs to other countries how in the hell can we sustain our government handouts?

Why does it seem our government is trying its best to bring our nation to its knees? Are they all in the pocket of Soros?

I'm not an economics genius but damn it, it's time to shut our borders, quit the handouts/bailouts, produce our products here and keep them here or assess huge tariffs to other countries to purchase them. I don't give one whit about other countries any longer. Seems to me we could produce our products at home and sell them domestically and corporations could still sustain a healthy profit margin.

I know I'm probably wrong on this but there has to be some way we can become strong again, protect our sovereignty and citizens and give those of us who work a break from the burden of increasing taxes!

Sorry to post again, WB, but this article has just pissed me the hell off. We all think alike, so I figure you all would be interested in this. Pardon me, Merry Widow, but these fu*king people have got to be stopped. There was Internet chatter from the scum that kidnapped our boys and our wonderful Democrats, so far as I am concerned, are responsible for their not being rescued. The following is from Reuters.

"Terrorist privacy rights caused 10 hour delay in hunt for kidnapped troops in Iraq
Reuters: U.S. authorities racing to find three kidnapped American soldiers in Iraq last May labored for nearly 10 hours to get legal authority for wiretaps to help in the hunt, an intelligence official told Congress on Thursday.

The top U.S. spy agency, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, sent Congress a timeline detailing the wiretap effort as the Bush administration makes its case to wary Democrats for a permanent expansion of its authority to eavesdrop on the foreign communications of terrorism suspects.

"In order to comply with the law, the government was required to spend valuable time obtaining an emergency authorization ... to engage in collection related to the kidnapping," Ronald Burgess, principle deputy director to McConnell, said in a letter to U.S. Rep. Silvestre Reyes.

Reyes, a Texas Democrat, is chairman of the House of Representatives intelligence committee.

Director of National Intelligence Michael McConnell has been under fire from some Democrats in control of Congress who say misstatements have eroded his credibility. Some Democrats and civil liberties advocates say a temporary expansion of the eavesdropping authority passed in August threatens the rights of Americans and any permanent law needs more protections."

I guess our heroic military has no rights as they lay their lives on the line for our country and these assholes. Only the damned terrorists, illegals and welfare recipients rate in this country.

i noticed that about yeast also, wild bill - my husband and children do like to make bread in the winter and yeast will not keep if stocked up - he did, however, find some very good beer batter recipes.

Every time OPEC jacks the price of crude on us, we should hit them back with the price of grain. They could either eat sand or crude.

BTW, we raised a bunch of rows of field corn this year and although it didn't get much rain, it did produce some nice ears of corn. We let it dry on the stalk and now feed our few chickens with it twice a day. They love it better than the stuff we bought.

I've been thinking of planting more next year and grinding it up as corn meal.

Just remember that " WE GET THE GOVERNMENT WE DESERVE" and take a GOOD look at who has been elected !!

The only thang they wanna PRESERVE is their chances of re-election..

And Folks, I know I keep sayin it, but the writin is on the wall !!

And if a penney(a days wages) is what it takes to buy your grain then you have a pretty good idea of what your dollars are gonna be worth, and that aint much.. But I've got my bucket of silver, REAL silver, so I'm in good shape in that dept. .. I dont have very much gold, but I dont figger I'm gonna be needin that much gold anyway.. Anythang I have to have I should be able to get for a few Eisenhower Dollars, or less..

Yes, Mrs. Widow, I've read Revelations too !! There are a lot more good lessons in that Sweet Book besides that one.. KEEP READIN !! Those that dont and refuse to take heed are gonna have a very rude awakenin, and probably a short existence..

But Cheryl, its gonna be hard as hell for me to boycott Hershey .. I like my fudge and homemade cake icin too much to do without my cocoa.. But I bet the production they are movin out of the country is the processed kind.. But when these companies see their taxes just keep gettin bigger and bigger they dont have much choice but to move where the taxes aint so much.. They just caint compete and the only one that even speaks of tax CUTS is G.W. and you see how people demonize him.. I dont thank there is a (D) breathin that aint talkin bout one kind of tax INCREASE or another.. The Companies can see the writin on the wall too..

And the Anti-American Left is still tryin to tie our hands on security and INTEL just like they did to enable the 9-11 hijackers to do their dirty work !! It aint just the Troops that are gettin thrown to the wolves.. WE are too !!

The Feds can do pretty much anythang they wanna to bust some asshole with a pound of smokin dope, but Lord help em if they even look twice at a Mooselimb..

Mountain Man, I had almost 10 pounds of seed corn to get in the ground next year but the coons tore into it and aint none left.. I gathered it up off the ground where a local farmer spilled it when he loaded his planter.. Maybe I can do the same next spring and wont have to buy any..

My sister bought a grinder and makes her own cornmeal and it sure is a lot better.. I already have the crib and sheller in the shop so all I need is the grinder.. I wonder if my meat grinder would work for that ??

if you want to get your corn started early next year, put your seed in bleach for a couple of hours before rinsing and planting - honestly, it will sprout in just a few days - we were amaized! get it - amaized?

bwaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahaha!

can you just imagine the "humanitarians" scream if we upped the price of our exported grain? geez, mt. man - we'd be demonized even further.
